Who developed this site?

This site has been set up as a community service by a Prince Georgian who cares about Prince George's County, Maryland (see map on another site), for others who also care, for people to learn about the virtues of the county and what people are doing to improve it (see our newsletters and calendar), and for leaders to see what Prince Georgians are suggesting for improvements to it in our forums. Issue Resources, Meeting Notes, and Special Report have been added to the site to further inform Prince Georgians about what is going on in the county.

This site was developed for ease of use and for all users. It has few images or fancy scripts to allow for quick downloading by all browsers, operating systems, and computers. A lot of developers don't realize that there are people who are still using dial-up and/or old computers which barely work. Also that some people have free access to computers and the internet through the public library, schools, friends, relatives, and businesses that do not allow them the option of downloading a new browser or plug-ins and upgrading with the latest operating system. This site developer is aware of the many differences that people have who use the internet. Also, since some have physical and visual differences, this site has been developed to make it more accessible to their needs as well. The Bobby button at the bottom of the home page is to indicate that it passed an accessibility test. If you have trouble using this site, please email me about it at info AT pgcares.com with the subject line: PGCares Web Site (email links use javascript for spam protection; including the subject line will help me find your message if it sorts into my Spam box).

If you don't use javascript, the email links will not work. This was done to protect the persons with email from getting spam from robots accessing this site. You can create an email address by putting the "@" between the username and domain name that you see in the email link. To email me put the @ between info and pgcares.com and include PGCares Web Site in the subject line.

All links going off of this site will likely go to sites that are less accessible than this one. They may take longer to download, have pop-up windows, ads, javascripts, applets and other codes that could interfere with your browser. There should be a warning before or just after every link going off the site or at the top of a page containing a list of links going off of the site. Thus the calendar page goes to an explanation page rather than directly to the off-site calendar. The JOBS link is an exception to that rule, though, as no intro page has been developed for it.

This site is presently using free services from other sites due to a lack of resources to provide on-site services. These services may not remain free. There are also other ongoing expenses that web sites incur. Sponsors can help defray the costs that the site developer is presently footing alone. Also, as resources for this site become more abundent, the developer can also increase the quality of services that this site offers with the goal of not using services with advertising and using services that are either on this site or are highly reliable. You can make a donation through this PayPal link.
